Prior to the inception of the Prince George Rodeo Association there were numerous western horse related user groups in the Prince George community.  Separate groups originally formed by discipline and were comprised of team penning, team roping, working cow horse, barrel racing and pole bending.  These small groups felt it was in their best interest to come together and form a much larger "not for profit" society, which became known as the Prince George Rodeo Association.  The amalgamation of these individual groups, although problematic at first, created a united front for the Association with the main objective to promote horse-related sports regardless of discipline.  Uniting these groups encourages everyone to become involved - thus ensuring a higher degree of success with each event!

The Prince George Rodeo Association welcomes both riders and non-riders, regardless of their skill level, experience, or choice of discipline.  We're all here to have fun with our horses and meet new people!  Memberships are $25 Student, $50 Individual or $100 Family - practice event fees are $25 for members & out-of-town guests, $15 for students and $50 for non-members.

Our winter season runs practice events & clinics (with & without cattle) from October until April, where we finish off the season with Western Weekend - a multi-discipline competition event where everyone is welcome & encouraged to join in.  Several social events are enjoyed during the season as well - New Year's Eve ride, Valentine's weekend pub night, etc.

General meetings are held at the Agriplex meeting room 7 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of every month from September until May.
